Program fees are $125 each week. Program participants must pay them weekly. We also require a deposit of $500 up front (2 weeks of program fees and a sobriety deposit). We have temporary scholarships to help those who need assistance. The sobriety deposit will be returned when the program participant leaves Waypoint in good standing.

A recovery residence or transitional home is a safe place for those wishing to continue their recovery following a detox period and 30/60/90 day or longer rehabilitation program. A recovery residence is not a half-way house or treatment center. It is a place where people voluntarily go to continue their recovery with like-minded, sobriety-committed individuals in a home like atmosphere.

The backgrounds of the program participants staying in the recovery residence will be diverse but share a common issue of substance use disorder. Most importantly, they will all share the common goal of a prosperous life without the use of drugs or alcohol. There will be rigorous qualifications for the recovery residences to ensure a safe and secure experience for our program participants and our community neighbors.

No. Participants in recovery residences will have already completed detox, a rehabilitation program, or are enrolled in an outpatient treatment setting prior to their voluntary commitment to living in the home. Look on our web-site under resources to see where detox services are available locally.

There will be no geographical, demographic or socio-economic limitations to who can live in these homes, so long as they exhibit a genuine willingness towards sobriety and do not pose a risk to themselves or other program participants.

Individuals with a history of sex offenses, violent offenses and arson will not be permitted. Additionally, we will utilize nationwide best practices to determine individuals best suited for transitional housing.

We work collaboratively with our Problem Solving Courts in Wabash and surrounding counties and those with past and/or current legal issues. We will accept individuals on a case-by-case basis.

The home will be staffed with a House Manager and regular visits from other Waypoint administration.

Program participants will be required to be self-supporting within their first 30 days of coming into the homes. If they are unemployed upon acceptance, they will treat finding a job as their full time job until they find suitable employment. While looking for employment they will have house and community volunteer requirements.

A regimented schedule of employment, daily chores, 12-step meetings, and supervised recreation excursions will not permit much time for extracurricular activity. However, we welcome and hope for an embracing neighborly community whereby our program participants might offer their unique skills and talents to serve the community via service-related projects.

Residency in the homes is expected for a minimum of 6 months but will not have a limit on length of stay in the program. Our hope is that most participants stay in our program 12 months or longer.

Sobriety is critical to each program participant’s success. To support them in their goals, we will have a minimum of one random drug screen per week. A previously established and successful model, which we are using for this home, tests each program participant an average of every 3 to 5 days at random.

To ensure the safety and security of all program participants, those found to be in violation of our drug or alcohol policies will be immediately dismissed with care and assistance provided for their departure including referrals to area resources.

Security is very important to us, and we realize its importance to you. Our security plan offers 24×7, 360-degree monitoring. We will secure the premises with cameras and other monitoring technologies. Additionally, each home will have a house manager that lives on the premises. The acceptance process will evaluate for any areas of concern and we will have routine inspection of all areas to ensure everyone is committed to the mutual goal of a healthy recovery.

Waypoint is located on Wabash City streets, so those with vehicles may be permitted to park along the street as appropriate. We are committed to being good neighbors and an asset to our community.

Absolutely. A key component of healthy relationships is to practice transparency and openness, and we endeavor to be loving, caring and good neighbors within the community. Our community’s greatest assets – its people, young and old – are being led astray due to the disease of substance use disorder. A key component of healing, as a community, is to also practice transparency, openness and active listening. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us through the website or the number listed there.

We anticipate a peaceful, healthy presence with a profound and measurable impact on the well-being of the community as a result of these homes. Evidence-based data indicates that recovery residences drastically improve the likelihood of an individual maintaining sobriety. We look forward to graduates of these homes being excellent members of our community and society as a whole. While perhaps not the complete answer to economic and social challenges in our community, we are also encouraged by the impact recovery residences have had on the local economy and cultural health in other cities.
